The Centre Project in Leicester will create a new digital meeting pod to help its service users improve their access to digital services and make NHS digital services accessible and inclusive.

The Centre Project provides a safe space and day services for people who are at risk of loneliness and isolation and likely to be digitally excluded. People coming to the Centre often ask to use the telephone or for help to access online services, however the place can be busy and noisy and privacy cannot be guaranteed.

The funding will be used to create a private, quiet space through a ‘meeting pod’ and a phone pod, that are well ventilated and equipped with all necessary digital equipment and built-in video conferencing to enable people to make virtual appointments and consultations, with a hearing loop and tools for the visually impaired.

This will promote self-care and enable people to maximise their own abilities to be resilient, stay safe and care for themselves with support to achieve this where required.
